What to Expect When You Drop Off
These are the details that sit behind everything else on this site: the exact timelines, what we cover, and a few things worth knowing before you come in, so there’s nothing to figure out on the spot.
The 30-day guarantee on alterations
If something we altered doesn’t look right within 30 days of pick-up, bring it back and we’ll fix it at no charge. The guarantee covers the specific work we did: the seam we took in, the hem we shortened, the zip we replaced. It doesn’t cover unrelated issues or anything damaged by another cause, and it applies to alterations only, not cleaning. That’s the whole of it.
Turnaround times and when to pick up
Standard alterations take 7 to 8 days, Saturday included. If you’re in before noon Monday through Friday, or before 11am on Saturday, same-day alterations are available. Miss the cutoff on a weekday? A rush may still be possible that day if you call first. Dry cleaning and shirts are a little different: bring them in Monday through Thursday and they’re back the next day; drop off Friday or Saturday and they’ll be ready Monday. Household cleaning takes about two days; household alterations take about a week. If there’s a public holiday in the window, add one day to whichever timeline applies to you. The exact pick-up time is always confirmed at the counter when you drop off, so you leave knowing the number.
How we handle stains
Old or set-in stains are the honest part of this conversation. They may not come out fully, and we’ll tell you that before we start, not after. We’d rather give you a clear picture up front than have you pick something up and feel let down.
Household items
We clean comforters, curtains, couch covers, mattress covers, decorative pillows, and flexible small-to-medium rugs. Hard rugs that can’t bend aren’t something we take, and neither are electric blankets. Foam toppers are fine; they do carry an extra charge because everything inside comes out, is cleaned, and is sewn back with the same sutures, so plan for up to a week on those. Pet hair and light odours are no problem, bring them in as they are. Heavy urine or smoke is worth a quick conversation first, since it may need an extra cycle and can add time and sometimes cost. Very detailed decorative pillows need a simple signed form before we start, nothing complicated, just a few lines so we’re on the same page.
Wedding gowns and heavily embellished pieces
Beaded and heavily embellished gowns sometimes need a second visit to finish properly. It’s not the common case, but if your gown is one of those, we’ll let you know when you bring it in, not partway through. We’d rather plan for the extra time honestly than rush something that took that much work to make. If you want to talk through your gown before you come in, call us at (801) 572-1386.
What this site does and doesn’t collect
This site sets no cookies and runs no ad trackers. A cookie-free counter records page views and anonymous taps on the call, directions, and text buttons. No names, no IP addresses, nothing personal. If you call, text, or email us, that goes straight to the shop and is used only to reply to you. That’s everything.
